Editorial Standards

Purpose of the catalogue

The ECAZU Public Domain Literature Library exists to make public-domain works more accessible to contemporary readers through editorial context and thematic curation. The catalogue does not aim for comprehensive coverage but rather to highlight works of mathematical and historical interest that might otherwise be overlooked.

Scope and selection

Works are selected from Project Gutenberg and other public-domain repositories, focusing on mathematics, geometry, and related fields. Selection prioritizes works that offer unique perspectives, historical significance, or pedagogical interest. The current collection of 35 books spans three categories, with plans for gradual expansion.

Source attribution

Every book is attributed to its original author(s) and publisher as recorded in the source text. Project Gutenberg is the primary source; links to the original files are provided where applicable. The editor, Oscar Dickens, verifies that all works are in the public domain under relevant laws.

Bibliographic records

Each record includes title, author(s), a catalogue note, keywords, and a target reader description.
